Colour combo

What is the perfect colour combination for this dress? I'm really drawn to the idea of making the yoke out of thin tulle in a beautiful contrasting colour.

This cute pattern will be my fall coat. But what colour? Navy blue? Purple? Red? Plaids? Mustard yellow? Leopard print?

Goodbye summer

I was given a beautiful pastel cotton fabric a few weeks ago and used it for a shirt dress from 1953. As you can see I adjusted the hem length considerably to make it a bit more modern and summer-like. This will be the last dress I make for the summer season 2010 I hope the rest of August and September will be warm enough to wear it as much as possible.

50 years later I could still wear these outfits every day of my life.

Suit yourself

My first two jackets are done! As mentioned in a previous post, I wanted to complement my two skirts with a jacket each. I took a deep breath and went for it (well, after making a few changes to the muslin) and I'm quite happy with both of them.

Mat leave is coming to an end in about a week and now I'm ready for the office!

Fall fabrics

I have come across some amazing fabrics in the last week. Time to dig up some patterns and get started on my fall wardrobe!

Pretty polka dots

This picture of the handsome Paul Newman and his beautiful wife Joanne inspired me to make a polka dot summer dress. I took longer than I had expected to find a good quality cotton with the proper polka dot proportions but Tygverket in Stockholm had exactly what I was looking for.
This is the pattern I used. It's becoming one of my favourite patterns to work from.

And here is my dress! The skirt would require a crinoline to show it's full potential.
And maybe a contrasting black/white polka dot belt?

August means the start for the fall/winter knitting season. Time to get those needles out!
