Once upon a time I knitted almost an entire fall/winter wardrobe for my son. My pregnancy and major nesting needs might have had something to do with that... But I remain a knitting enthusiast! I recently came over a pattern for this wonderful cardigan somewhere online and have spent a couple of weeks inbetween sewing projects curled up on the couch knitting in front of the TV.

I chose an off-white wool and a black wool for the borders and added golden buttons and a black/golden ribbon for some extra details.

The skirt I'm wearing in the picture is the skirt from this pattern:

UPDATE! I found the pattern for the cardigan! Click here.

Next project: jumper!

I'm finishing a knitting project and will be moving right away on to my next pattern drafting project: a jumper! I found a beautiful plaid wool fabric while shopping with my sister a few weeks back and it will be a perfect edition to my fall/winter wardrobe.

One day I'll make you mine

I spent my Sunday afternoon drooling over this amazing piece of technology:
It's the latest dressmaker machine from Babylock and I never thought I could get this excited over a sewing machine! It comes with 17 different feet! It has an automatic thread cutter! And 5,000 other amazing gadgets, features and magical accessories. Not to mention the the sound (or the lack of)! So do I go for Christmas gifts and a trip to Sweden to spend the holidays with my family, or do I go with the Babylock Symphony?

I have some exciting news! After much planning and lots of work I can now present Maelle, my own dress design business! Here is my sister modeling the "Anna" dress.

(Petticoat and belt not included with order)

And no worries, this blog will remain my hobby and I'll keep posting my vintage sewing accomplishments as often as the are achieved :) !

1960's does 1920's

My sister is visiting me for a couple of weeks and the blog is suffering... A few weeks ago I finished this Buttericks pattern from the early 1960's.

I was given a beautiful vintage French knit fabric a few months back and have been looking for the perfect pattern. The skirt is almost a full circle skirt but I made it with less flare. Now I have to wear it to work and show it off!

Speaking of my sister... I'm working on a custom made dress for her! She found a gorgeous dark blue linen fabric and it will be so perfect for her. Pictures will be posted before she returns to Sweden.

I know it's been ages since my last post but I've been working on yet another self-made design. Pictures will be posted VERY soon. I also made my own version of this dress from a gorgeous vintage knit fabric my boss generously donated to me :)

My sister and I are hitting an antique market this afternoon and hopefully I'll come home with some new editions to my pattern stash!

See you all again on the other side of the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend!
