New almost-spring coat

I've had a great wool flannel in a dark fuchsia shade in my stash for quite some time now. For a while there I thought to make a cape out of it, then I decided to use it for this great pattern:

I chose a peachy pink lining and will be wearing the coat with a thin leather belt.

Notice fabric scraps on the floor from my next dress project. Oh, and I'm knitting a sweater too. My deeply rooted hatred for post-Christmas winter makes me aggressively creative.

Voila! Bring it on March! (who am I kidding here... April is more realistic).

My spring 2011

Bracelet from Missoni, bodysuit from Fortnight Lingerie, Love ring from Tiffany by Paloma Picasso, dress from Maelle, red pants from Modcloth, skirt from Anthropologievintage coat, slingbacks from Swedish Hasbeens, bag from Kate Spade and a very cute little Bichon frise.

Did I mention the rose gold ring from Tiffany? They even have a store in Toronto. On Bloor Street West. Just saying...

Do these pants make my butt look... great?

Pants project done! Two muslins later with a few adjustments here and there and I now have the perfect pattern for a high waisted cigarette pants.

You won't be seeing me buying jeans any time soon, Mr Levi's.

Lunch break find

Guess what I found for $2/yard on my lunch break the other day?

The only thing I have to do now is decide which 70s pattern to use...

The shorter version of the Halston pattern?                  Or the halter-neck maxidress?

They call me smarty pants

There are horror stories about how difficult it is to design the perfect pair of pants. How hard can it really be? I am about to find out very soon... This afternoon I'm embarking on my own capri pant drafting journey. See you at the other end!

The most wonderful bag in the world

There is at least 1.5 months left of this never-ending Canadian winter... Sigh. Salt stained boots, mittens, parkas and sniffles. Not that glamorous huh? Putting a vintage dress and a pair of cute little pumps doesn't really work with wind chills around -24 and more snow than one would know what to do with.

Svenskt Tenn has the cure! These amazing bags with Josef Frank fabrics makes me drool.

Now, can my sweet sister in Stockholm please send me one?

New editions to the Maelle family

I have just put up two more Maelle creations in my Etsy shop. One is the "Lotta" shirt dress, inspired by my mom Liselotte, the other item is the full pleated skirt "Margareta". I hope you like them!
